Fae Wars: More Tales from the Occupation

Life is hard. Under the boot heels of an oppressor who cares nothing about human life? Almost impossible. Thing is, though, when you put the boot on the neck of Americans, they tend to get a little pissed off and a lot worked up. Doesn't matter if they face overwhelming odds, heavy firepower or bewildering magic. They're going to resist, to the death.

The Fae have won, and they're trying to do their best to beat that spirit of independence out of their ancient enemy, humanity. In a lot of places, people are just trying to survive, but here, there and everywhere someone, somehow, will stand up and say, "Not me. Never."

Eight tales of ordinary people, and some not so ordinary, fighting a war that they may never see the end of but never giving up.

The Rules for Verity's West Side

1. Never paint the house anything but green.

2. Do not cover, remove, or replace its stone pillars outside.

3. Only plant flowers that are yellow or white.

4. Do not place any reflective surfaces on your porch or exterior.

5. Hang a wind chime to be warned of foul moods.

6. No matter how loud or sudden, never investigate the Howling.

About Me

On my last day as a news producer in North Carolina, I told my colleagues that after seven years of writing about crime and politics, anything I wrote from now on would be about unicorns, fairies

And perhaps a dash of horror.

At the end of FantaSci 2024, one of the featured guests encouraged me to send my manuscript to some of the editors in attendance. Now, I am thrilled to collaborate with Cannon Publishing on my debut urban fantasy novel, "The Howling Tree of Olivine Way."
